I have been trying to run Epression Media 2, SP2, under Windows 7.  It sort of works, but videos don't always play.  Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.  Does anyone know whether there is a problem running Expression Media 2 under Windows 7?

I should add that I am runnin the 64-bit version of Windows 7 RC.

The only problem I've had is that Windows 7 doesn't contain Movie Maker, so trying to build a movie doesn't work through Movie maker. No warning, it just doesn't bring up the app.

I've written one of my colleagues to suggest testing the movies.

I am having two problems, both having to do with video clips (avi) files:

    1.  In Thumbnail view, clips are very slow to respond -- about 10 seconds -- before they begin playing.  When I ran the same catalog under XP on the same machine, they would play almost instantly.
    2.  In Media view, the video clips will not play at all.

I tried making new catalogs from scratch under Win 7 RC, but the same thing happens.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Thanks Joel What kind of movie files are you using? I have Win 7 RC, and am not having a problem with WMV files - what should I be testing?

    Hi Anita,

They are mostly .avi files, although I just created a new catalog and put in a few WMV files -- same problem.
If possible, could you cc your replies to me at joel@jdnisson.com.  I checked "Alert me when someone responds to this post", but I did not get your reply.

    Thanks.
