    Currently, I use VME (which uses Windows Media Encoder) to recurse through my folders and convert my .avi files to .wmv

    Is there a way to use Expression Encoder to encode an entire folder full of avi's?

    There isn't direct support, but you could easily use the Expression Encoder SDK to write a quick program to recurse through a set of folders encoding all the video files it finds.
