Behavior

Clicking Help, Samples causes Expression Design 2 to crash

Cause

This problem happens after you uninstall Expression Design version 1 from a machine that already has Expression Design 2 or Expression Studio 2 installed. The uninstallation of Expression Design version 1 causes a registry key to be inadvertently deleted. The key is -HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Design.exe

Workaround

To work around this problem, use either the following method -

Perform a reinstall of Expression Design. From the original media or source location, go to the Setup directory and locate Design_en.msi. Double click this file. When Maintenance Mode appears, choose Repair and click Next. You can also perform a repair of Expression Studio from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
