Do any users have a good guide or text to accompany Expression Studio?  I was unable to find a Microsoft Press volume; does anyone know if one is planned for release?  Thank you. Thomas P.

There are MSPress Step-By-Step guides for Web and Design currently. Neither is a 2.0 version, however.

    For 2.0:

    Foundation Expression Blend 2
Using Expression Web 2 - this one should be a good book (Jim Cheshire's first book was great)

There are other Web 2.0 books out there, but that is pretty much what is available for now. Most of the learning is on the web, not in books.

    Dear Gregory:
Thank you for taking time to respond.  I know MSFT Press has two books on the apps BUT NOT the Studio suite.   I was also aware of the Cheshire text.  I would expect SOMETHING from Microsoft on the STUDIO edition, but perhaps MSFT Press has someone writing under contract on that project.  Also Thanks for your web site.  Will visit. Regards--Thomas

    Thomas:

Someone will eventually come out with a full suite book. Today is not that day (apologies to William Wallace, aka Braveheart).

Right now, every book is product featured, rather than suite featured. My suggestion would be to write the book companies and brief email. If there is interest, they will push the idea. Personally, MS should take the different step-by-step books and at least offer them in a box. They still need coverage on Encoder and Media, as there are no plans on either of those.

    Hi Gregory:
Thank you for the 2nd reply.  I agree that the MSFT Press books should be pkg'd just as the MSCE Server books are.  I note that MSFT Press on its site asks for suggestions, and I plan to do that (for whatever long-term value it might have).  There probably are reasons why w/ different authors, the Press does not pkg. them together (royalties being one as some book contracts involve more pages, greater amts. of content, etc.).  But, in the meantime, we are all poorer for not having an offering from MSFT Press for Expression SUITE per se.  The piecemeal book approach is not the most intelligent tack by the editors.
      Best,
        Thomas
