How do you set external editors?
    • If I right click a bitmap (say png) and select EDIT EXTERNALLY, well, seeing PAINT is kind of horrific for a desginer :)
Question above is a base question - re: in VS2008 you can set specific external tools for files in your project. Probably will only need one for image/bitmap editing (just like VS).

    Thanks.

Well, I really didn't think this would be a tough question....I guess it can't be done?

No biggie - It's a cool tool and does make your life easier in a VS2008 + Blend workflow....

    Thanks anyway...

Blend does not do anything special about the "Edit Externally" command. We just use whatever be the default "Edit" shell association.

To change this, right click on the image format, and setup an association such that double click opens the image in the editor of your choice. Then Blend will do the same :)

    Thanks,
    Unni

    Hi Unni,

Thanks for your input...not so however. That's what I was expecting (if one can't set it). But at the shell level, and in the above example, I do have an editor set for PNG files (and it's not PAINT).

Anyway, thanks again - it's not a big deal...

    Ed
