THe "UNLINKED" files report is unreliable
- 2/3rds of the files showing on the unlinked report are very much linked. Even the background music file for the index page shows as unlinked. Yes, I have set the Site/Site settings.../<General> "Manage the Website using meta files" option.
I have clicked "Recalculate Hyperlinks" (over and over). Still fails. This report is totally useless as far as I can see, it would be wonderful it it was reliable, but so far it has cost me more time reloading and relinking files than it is worth.
Right now it shows 162 files as being unlinked out of 163! There are no bad links, they all show good on the report and work on the site.
If I open EVERY page and close them, then the report is correct. But the next time I go into the site I have to open them all over again. This program has some serious bugs! Very frustrating!

- Note the description for the unlinked files report:
**Files that can not be reached from the home page**
which means there is no link to them from the home page.
The background sound does not use a hyperlink it is a link to a source file.
In other words it is not linked to using <a href=""
FrontPage MVP - The description in EW2's help is: "Unlinked Files - Files that have no hyperlinks to them from any of your pages."
... And that is how it works for me. - Unfortunately, that description is misleading.

It looks like just server side includes create an issue? I don't use them, so never ran into it. (The issue doesn't happen with design time includes.)
And if "Files that have no hyperlinks to them from any of your pages" should instead be "Files that have no hyperlinks to them from any of your pages that that can be reached starting from your home page", that I would agree with. Orphaned branches that show up in the unlinked report can link among themselves. - Server Side Includes and scripted links are the issues.
Design time includes are embedded in the page when the page is saved, and are therefore part of the page, whereas server side includes are dynamically added when the page is served.
