I am new to this company and the person that managed this product has left.  The company recently moved all of the pictures, etc to a server and lost all of the links / paths of over 31,000 items.  We can view them in the catalog, however it shows they are no longer linked. I really don't know what was done before I got here but we are trying to relink and it is taking forever.  It took over 2 hours to relink 98 of them using reset path using one folder at a time.

Is there a quicker way to do this.  When we try to access the files from our server it takes even longer, so we are bypassing the server altogether and have them loaded on one computer.  As you can tell I don't totally understand the process and need all the help I can get.

    Thanks,
    Sandee

    Hi Sandee,

You can use the "Reset folder path" option instead. This command is much faster than the Reset Paths command on the Find menu, but assumes that the contents of the folder in question have not been reorganized. In Organize panel > Catalog Folder, right click on the top level folder and click on "Reset Folder Path", browse to the location where the folder is located, select the folder and click Ok.

    I have a similar problem...

I have just moved a huge collection of files from one USB connected external drive to a network drive. The network drive now has the same drive letter (F:) as the previous drive. However, in my EM catalogue all of the files are now pointed at (E:\). What gives?

I have tried the "reset folder path" option which does nothing. I have also tried the reset paths option. Reset path will work for ONE FILE AT A TIME but does not seem to work for entire folder or even for more than one file.

    HELP!

    Hi KC,

You don't say what Media build or operating system you are on. Could you supply that information?
