I've looked in both the Home folder and System folder for EM2 Scripts and they are not there.

    Library/Application Support/EM2/Plugins

    What should I do??

    Hi Chas,

Your Scripts button should be on the menu bar already. It is an unobtrusive little scroll toward the right end of the toolbar immediately to the left of Help.

The installed scripts are hidden from view inside the Expression Media pakage file.
Your personal scripts go into /Library/Application Support/Expression Media 2/Plug-ins/Scripts

Note: The easiest way to get to the Scripts folder is to go to the bottom of the scripts menu, to the tools folder, and click "Reveal scripts folder."

    Hope this helps,
    Anita

    Hi Chas,

On the Mac, they are in the package. If you right (or control) click on the Expression Media Application, and View Package Contents, you will find it under

    /Library/Application Support/iView/Plug-in

    Hope this helps,

Right Click on EM2 Application icon in the Application folder yields Contents>Library>Quicklook (+) Spotlight.

    I see no iView/Plug-in.

    Need I look further?

    Hi all,

Yes and No Anita, owner scripts are not in the application package.
But it contains a copy of all scripts provided by Microsoft in each language folder.

Copy the following line and on Finder menu "Go to folder" (or cmd-shift-G) past it in the field.
    ~/Library/Application Support/Expression Media 2/Plug-ins/
Then you open your folder Plug-ins

By the same way with :
    /Applications/Microsoft Expression Media 2/Expression Media 2.app/Contents/Resources/French.lproj/Plug-ins/
open the Plug-ins folder specific to French language (for example).

All scripts are delivred for each language.
This, among other things, unnecessarily make the application fat.
So, with Mac OS it is possible to separate code and language resources.

It's a Microsoft speciality to complicate when we can make simple.

I am currently working to provide scripts that will get automatically text by language of the user specified by the system.

Right - I was assuming that he was asking about the shipped scripts, because all you have to do to go to the user scripts is to click the scripts menu --> Tools --> Reveal scripts folder.

On the Mac, all languages are included in the package rather than a separate localized version for each language.

    Regards,
    Anita

I have performed the above Copy and Paste and find there are not scripts in the folders that allow me to add a 'Sripts' button in the EM2 menu bar. Too there are no scripts in any of the 10 folders except Helper Applications, Vocabulary has two txt documents.

    Hoping you can help.

The Arrow icon next to Help reveals selections for playing a slide show as in Play and Playlist Mode. I have already looked in the plug Ins folder and there are no scripts there! There is only space between that arrow and the word Help. In the Plug Ins folder are ten empty Folders. Well, Help folder has four items, Vocabulary two, and Option Set eight. The other seven are empty.

Double-check to make sure that you have installed the full version and not Expression Media Reader. Expression Media Reader wouldn't have scripts.

I installed from a purchased installation disk. 'About' reads Microsoft Expression Media 2 Service Pack 2 version 2.0.2.

I never heard of Expression Media Reader.

    What are my options now?

    Thanks for your efforts Anita,

Reading some of the problems others are having in this forum I came across this that may help me and I'd like your input Anita. If I press the Ctrl key and click the EM2 applications icon and select Show Package Contents I can find, among other goodies, a folder of scripts. Is this what I need? if so, what do I do with the folder and will it solve my problems?

    Best,
    Charles
