I try to Install the Software on a Vista SP2 Computer. (German Version)

The Setup crashes immediately after launching as described in the article
    http://blogs.msdn.com/xwebsupport/archive/2009/09/28/expression-web-3-setup-crashes-immediately-after-launching-not-the-fonts-issue.aspx

but the solution described in the above article does not help: on my system, there is no file WBEMCOMN.DLL in the C:\Windows\System32\WBEM directory. in the list of system services i can't find Microsoft Management Instrumentation.

the installation of the Software by launching the .msi Installer packages was performed successful. But i cannot start the software, it crashes immediatly and i am also unable to remove the software from the system.

thanks in advance for any helpful information

    Markus

Did you try the other workaround listed on that page, running the MSI file directly?  Also, have you determined whether or not the Windows Management Instrumentation service is running?

Other than that, please check the Expression Web Installation Support thread at the top of this forum.  The Microsoft support staff are pretty responsive and the support is free.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the .net framework. This has solved many "Microsoft" install and other issues over the years. Expression relies on the framework heavily, and any little problem on your system can cause these strage behaviors.

in the mean time i have installed Windows 7 on this system (migration from Vista SP2)

under Windows 7, the installation performed well with no further problems. the reasen for the installation problems under Vista remains in the dark.
