AnswerOver-rotation with EM2

When I do JPEG Rotate under View, and select -90°, it rotates 180°. When I rotate that +90° to bring it to the intended original rotation, it comes out as originally intended. It doesn't do this all the time, just most of the time. I am using EM2, Service Pack 2, v. 2.0.2 on a 17" MacBook Pro running OS 10 v 10.5.6.

I have filed this as a bug. It's in the database as a high priority for the next service pack or version. From my standpoint, that's all I can do - since I don't set the schedule for updates.

Well, we are definitely on the same build. I tried it again, and sure enough. On one image where I asked for 180, I got 90 degrees counter-clockwise. On another where I asked for 90 clockwise, I got 180. Filing bugs!

    Thanks for reporting this,

    Anita

    Hello -

That's really strange. I just did 5 in a row, with no trouble. Then I thought that maybe you were selecting several and rotating them in a batch. They rotated correctly. Then I tried to rotate them back, and they seem to be stuck in the rotated position. I rebuilt all items and closed the catalog, and I STILL can't rotate them back. I'll see if I can reproduce that and file a bug on it. I can mention the symptoms you are experiencing, too, at the same time.

Still, I'd feel better if I could reproduce exactly what you are. To the right of the version number, there is a build number in parenthesis. What's that number, please?

    The build number is (2096).

I'm not rotating as a batch, but sometimes I get the same result if I try that. Not always.

For what it's worth, I sometimes had this problem with iView. It went away with one of the earlier upgrades. Now it's back again.

It's also not always there. I can't be sure I'll replicate it.

This is absolutely a bug!  The Version is 2.0.2096.0
It does NOT matter of the file format - NEF or JPG - same results.  This happens 100% of the time.
If I rotate an image in the Media tab (view), it will rotate the thumbnail image an ADDITIONAL 90-degrees in the same direction (thereby rotating the thumbnail image a full 180-degrees!  I just can't believe the bugs that have destroyed this software. It was PERFECT before it was taking over by Microsoft....ashame.

If they could fix this, it might convince me to keep using it until another bug creeps in.....  :/
