Expression Studio 3 Licensing

Hi!

I just want to ask about Expression Studio 3 Licensing.
I cannot find any detailed information on the web about this.

One of my clients bought Expression Studio 3 license.
She doesnt have a media kit so she downloaded a trial copy from the Microsoft website and installed it.
When trying to use any of the applications (i.e. Design3, Web 3) she is now prompt to enter a product key or continue trial.
But when she try to input the prooduct key provided to her, she is prompt the product key is invalid.

Is the Expression Studio 3 license will be the one used for all the applications included?
Or does she need to purchase separate license for each?

Io ho un sistema Windows Vista Home Basic in lingua Italiana. Tutte le aplicationi che volio usare, mi fa problemi se non sono in lingua Italiana. Ho trovato Expression Blend 3 versione di valutatione e mi a fatto piacere usarlo. Voglio di aquistare questo prodotto, ma in mercato ho trovato solo versione 2 di Expression Studio a 1100 euro. E in internet ho trovato Versione 3 di Expression Studio alle 700 euro, ma non sono contento con aquistare sul internet. No lo so, come aquisto sul internet, non ce la CARD per aquistare, e non sono sicuro che prendo la license per prodotto. Se io aquisto di internet e loro mi fa scaricare un file, senza licenza che succede. Proprio versione di valutatione c'è la un indirizzo dove ho trovato questa proposta, ma non sono contento di aquistare su internet. In mercato vicino di me a Milano ho trovato versione 2 al 1100 euro. Per che 1100 versione 2, no lo so. E anche sono contento di aquistare solo Expresson Blend, per che deve comprare tutti quatro insieme, su Expression Studio, no lo so. In fine voglio comprare Visual Studio in lingua Italiana con 700 euro, ma non sapere come viene il prodotto che aquisto su internet. Come viene la license di prodotto. E come si fa per pagare, e per ricevere il prodotto.

Problem with Deep Zoom Composer

I posted this in the Deep Zoom forum but got no response so I am trying here.

I created a composition of about 50 pictures in Deep Zoom Composer. I have published it in the custon tab so the program has now created a series of folders. I cannot find a file to link to that will open the composition. Can someone please tell me how to integrate this composition into a website page? Deep Zoom used to create a "Client Bin" folder which had a hot link to open the composition but it does not create that folder anymore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Macbook or PC?

I am looking to get a new laptop and I am deciding what kind to get. I am wondering which works better with Expression Studio 2, a Macbook or a PC. So if anybody knows some of the pros and cons of either I would appreciate hearing them.

I live in canada and I'm unable to buy the Expression Studio 3 upgrade on digital river. The only place where I've been able to buy the Expression Studio 2
What can I do to easily upgrade my product online ?

Installing Expression Studio

I Have just downloaded the trial version of Expression Studio and attempted to install it....without success.
I sits at approx 30% completion for "ever".
As far as I can see my Acer 800 fits the bill technically so after 5/6 attempts as install am a bit stumped...
Does anyone have suggestions.

Expression Professional Subscription and Visual Studio 2010?

I recently got to know that Visual Studio won't have a Standard version anymore, starting from version 2010. So what will happen to the subscribers? Will they get VS 2010 Professional or will they be stuck to VS 2008 forever?

I'm asking this because I contacted the local (Brazil) expression subscription personnel and from the answer I got, he made me understand that I would be stuck with 2008, even when VS 2010 is released, but the Subscription page says "Access to future versions of included products during the subscription period ensures that you always are working with the latest tools for delivering your designs."

Expression Studio 2 setup file corrupted in msdn download and items not pre-pidded

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but hopefully someone can help.

I have a Visual Studio TS Dev sku Premium and now have access to Expression Studio 2 via an MSDN subscription which I downloaded without problem.
However the setup file pops up the following error " Microsoft Expression Setup has encountered a problem we are sorry for the inconvenience etc" along with the usual options to send details to Microsoft. An empty log file XSetup_ExpressionStudio_2009_11_16_11_55_1.log is created. I am running this on a fully patched version of XP.

I tried running the individual MSI's for Design Encoder etc but whilst these install OK they are not pre-pidded, and appear to be only trial versions.

There is also a separate download within the subscriber area for Expression design. This installs OK, there is no log file but again it is not pre-pidded.

It would appear that these need product keys even though the download area says they are all pre-pidded.

Looking forward to a resolution.

Expression Studio 3 install fails - causes my computer to crash and screen goes blank (black) - anybody got any ideas?

I downloaded Expressoin Studio 3 from MSDN and attempted to install on my desktop. I had already installed the same package on my laptop successfully. During the installation on my desktop PC my screen went blank and my machine stalled.

I tried several times more to install but with the same results although sometimes Expression Web 3 would get installed and could be used.

I have also from another source downloaded the installers for Expression Web 3 and Expression Blend 3 and had the same result when installing.

I've attempted to install/remove/re-install so much that the installer now just throws an error message with a fatal error.

I am running a Dell Optiplex 745 with 2GB RAM. I have the following installed:
Windows Vista Ultimate
VS 2008 SP1
SQL Server 2008 Developer edition
Office 2007 Ultimate
Silverlight 3 (including VS 2008 tools)
.Net 3.5 SP1

I have managed to install Expression Web 2 and Expression Blend 2 successfully but Expression 3 is causing all sorts of problems and I believe it also messed up my video driver (ATI Radeon X1300PRO).

I have saved all the install log files so can can send if you're interested.

Expression Studio 3 Installation problems

Hi,

   I am having a critical problem with the reinstall of expression studio 3. First, everything was working fine under win7 RC. then I upgraded to RTM and all of a sudden it wouldn't run. I tried to 'Repair' it. Uninstalled it and even reinstalled the trial version no luck. It just tells me there was a problem and lets me view the log file...........

Alot of the middle of this listing has been taken out ( property(s) ) due to character restrictions.......

Install of expression studio fails

I have been trying to install studio 2 and then 3 for a few days now all attempts fail.

I am on xp service pack 3

Re-installed .net 3

I see an error message

“Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. The type initalizer for ‘system.windows.windows’ threw an exception.

Followed by the main failure message.

Any one any ideas before I give up and try another software?

I downloaded the expression 3 ISO file from msdn.

from the moment I run the setup.exe, I receive immediately an error box. namely:

"Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Cannot find DependencyProperty or PropertyInfo for property named 'Effect'. Property names are case sensitive. Error at object 'LayoutRoot' in markup file 'XSetupUI;component/initializationwindow.xaml'.

Someone any idea?

Expression Studio 3 Trial Installation Problems

Hi, I have tried to install the Expression studio 3 trial software. During the installation process my virtual memory is maxed out and the installation crashes. My system tries to increase the Page File wich slows everything on my computer. After the installation crashes it tries to send an error report to Microsoft but it is unable to complete as well for the same reason that my virtual memory is maxed out. Finally, I have to reboot my computer. I am running windows XP SP3. I have tried to install the packages seperatly. Specifically Expression Design 3 and Expression Blend 3. I get the same result. Hi Team,

I have just bought ES 2 and I have a problem during the installation. When I launch the setup, the installer UI is blank without anything inside.

I have noticed that I have a similar problem when I try to create a WPF project in Visual Studio 2008.

My OS is Win 7 64 bits.

I suspect a NET FrameWork 3.5 problem. So I have removed it from the add / remove components in the config panel, without any success.

Have you any idea to fix my issue?

Encoder 3 crashes when loading a screen captured .xesc

Step to reproduce

1) Start Encoder 3 screencapture
2) do a little presentation
3) click que button to start Encoder 3 (it'll ask to save the presentation)
4) Encoder 3 opens and loads the .xesc then BANG, a big nice crash

IN FACT, ANY IMPORTED MEDIA MAKES ENCODER 3 CRASHING...

What do I do wrong.
I tried a CLEAN reinstall of everything and it does the same
and yes I do start everything as ADMINISTRATOR

I recently purchased a copy of Expression web 2 through a program to help teachers and students (I teach high school). Although I got my copy at a discount, I do not get the free tech support. When I went to install the program, I received "error 1606." Installation was aborted.

Commitment to expression studio?

What is microsoft's commitment to expression studio. Here is the issue. I know microsoft tries new markets from time to time and then gives up with that product. Two recent examples: I just got an email saying microsoft will discontinue microsoft accounting. I also recently found out microsoft is no, or will not longer sell money. I am concerned if I put all this time into this product that I will be left high and dry. I want confidence that microsoft is putthing alot of effort and resources into this project. I don't want to get an email 5 years from now saying microsoft is discontinuing expression studio. One other question that will help. Is expression studio profitable and making the kind of money it needs to survive? I appreciate you help. I use your products all the time and want to make sure I will be able to see microsofts commitment to us the consumer who like what you offer.

The problems all started when I was installing Blend 2 and the installer crashed before completing. I was able to restart Windows and run the uninstaller so I can redo a clean install. Unfortunately I can't install any Expression software after that.

When I debug I can see the method missing is System.Windows.Window.ShowDialog(), which I though maybe it is because of the framework, I tried reinstalling .NET framework but that did not help.

We are (still) trying to get a copy of Expression Studio 3 and are pondering installing the trial in the meantime. Once we get our purchased version, do we have to uninstall the trial and install the full version or can we just enter a valid license key? I have been burned too many times by uninstalling MS programs that remove vital system files to risk an uninstall/reinstall so I do not want to install the trial if it cannot be converted.

Bought Expression 2 right after it was released. It doesn't seem like it was more than a couple months back. LOL

I would like to read, view a video or something that would explain or compare E2 vs E3.

Don't want to spend the extra money now, unless there are some extra super features I could use in E3.

I'd appreciate some suggestions, links or something

Memory Leakage in WPF Usercontrol with animation

Hello,

I am using WPF usercontrols with animation.It is repeatedly playing. After 5 or 10 min it memory is increasing gradually after some time application is crashing. In this usercontrols am using image controls also.

Please help me.

ToString() Causes problem in asp.net form

I am working on a form with numerous fields that I want include as the body of the message in the email sent by the form. For some reason this has been giving me problems.

I have tried several different methods to "gather" the fields for the email, to no avail. I thought I had it solved, but when I include the msg1.Body line below, my email fails to send. If I remove it, the email sends just fine - however I do not get anything in the body of the message. (note: I only included 2 of the fields for brevity's sake)

msg1.From = Email.Text;

  	msg1.Subject = tbSubject.Value;
  	msg1.Body = sb.ToString();
  	msg1.Priority = MailPriority.Normal;

And I have a web.config with the email server information. One last note. I am using <%@ Import Namespace="System.Web.Mail" %> instead of System.Net.Mail because I found with the latter I had significantly more/worse problems.

Anyone have ideas here?

Expression Studio and Windows 7

I have recently done a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional. I installed Expression Studio 3 and it has ran great until now. None of the applications will run and they give the error Microsoft Expression "" has stopped working. I had Expression Studio 3 installed on the Windows 7 RC and it resulted in the same error. I had hoped to resolve this by installing the Professional edition. Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

I initially installed Expression Studio 3 (about 2 weeks ago) on my Vista Home Premium System without any problems. I haven't really even used it yet. A few days ago, I upgraded to Windows 7 PROFESSIONAL - which required a custom installation (not a simple upgrade). This meant I have had to re-install all of my software (I had not expected that!) which has happened smoothly, except for my Expression Studio.

I cannot get my Expression Studio registered. It's noteworthy that all of my other programs re-installed without incident, drama or issues. Expression Studio 3 appears to be installed and functioning perfectly other than the product key issue.

After loading up Expression Web, my steps were

1) Start the program and select "Help/Register Expression Web" The program opens a browswer which requests the PID.
2) Enter the PID (found on "Help/About")
3. Theoretically, I am to be given a "Product Key" to enter into the program - but instead, I am directed to the "generic" expression web page (the one that opens with the picture of the dog)

On my first (Vista) installation, like a moron, I did not save the Product Key, I just copied and pasted.

I have tried a number of things, but I have not yet tried to unistall and re-install. For my "XP" computer. I have a "Windows Install Clean Up" utility. If I uninstall, I'd like top be able to have something like that in my arsenal (as even with it, it's still a remote possibility of success). Does anyone know if theis clean up utility is compatible with Windows 7?

Install error 1606

I have installed all of the expression studio programs but I got hung by expression web with the following 1606 error relating to network share of a invalid folder. I can't remove or repair install and have removed all other studio programs but can't seem to get rid of 'web' program. It has also entangled itself into the office programs making those display error 1324 folder error pointing back to expression web. I have deleted all the occurrences in the Reg. but still can't find the bad folder directory. Another infamous windows installer hiccup is my guess. just not sure if .net 3.5 or SQL server is what's not playing nicely, if at all, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanx Benny

Problem ordering Studio 3 from Official Site

I'm sorry to post this here except I have been unable to get a response from Customer Service so I am hoping that someone official at MS reads this and can get the appropriate people involved.

I have been trying to order licenses for Studio 3 from the official website, which redirects to a store at digitalriver.com

I tried ordering both an upgrade license for a user who already has Studio 2 and a new license for a new employee -- both failed with the error:

There was a problem processing your order. This may occur if we have not received your payment. Please contact us if you have questions on your order.

We are sorry, but we are unable to complete your request.
The following problem(s) exist:

There was a problem processing your key request
We are reviewing your purchase at this time. You will receive a confirmation email with your Product Key as well as download instructions when our review has been completed. Please allow up to 24 hours for our review to be completed before inquiring about the status of your order.

This was several days ago. I have not received a response from customer service on either account I purchased from, and my order status requests have also gone unacknowledged. I have received NO emails whatsoever regarding these orders. There is no phone number on the site to contact a live body to resolve this, and I don't even know whether my CC was charged yet.

I need the software TODAY and so I either need them to deliver on the order immediately or I need to cancel it and need another more reliable place to order from.

If anyone from MS can forward a link to this post to the proper channels, or preferably post a phone number to a live person I can talk to about it, I would be greatly appreciative.

Additionally, if anyone can recommend a reliable site for ordering Expression Studio 3 that can support electronic delivery of the software and license keys, I would be greatly appreciative of that as well.

I know I have asked this before but I have had failed results. I purchased the Expression Studio 1 package and went to reload it on my computer. The cd was not in the case and I have searched for it forever. I have contacted microsoft but they want to charge me $25 for the cd. I guess thats not bad but id rather not pay for something I already own. I have also tried downloading a newer version and using my keys. That also did not work. Any suggestions are welcome. =)
