From Tech to Web - Still the same geek

Hi there! I'm relatively new to web development and web design. My interest peaked when I was working on e-commerce sites setting up the stores. I used templates to save time - but I don't like some of the templates that are out there. I'm not surprised of how many template, css, javascript, and other repositories are out there!

I'll be frequent at this forum, Geeks To Go, and a few others. I love to talk shop and would like to hear back from some of the users here. I'm setting up a face book, and I've started a Linked In page.

I start college in InfoSecurity in January or February and I'm excited to get my career started! So many options!

I'M very disappointed. This is just another version of Vista and I hate Vista. Why don't you upgrade XP????????? Like Vista nearly nothing is compatible with Windows 7.

incomplete design display

Just installed Expression Web 2. My web pages which display completely and accurately in IE & FireFox do not completely display in Expression's design view. Specifically a "masthead" division displays completely and accurately but the rest of the page does not appear.

I have removed a "print only" style sheet link from the code head section thinking that might be the problem. This change had no effect.

I am using a new Dell Inspiron 546 with Windows XP. I had the same problem with an old version of FrontPage. This is one of the reasons I installed Expression thinking that my old software might have a bug.

Query regarding DocProject Tool for .NET Code Documentation

I installed DocProject tool for .NET Code Documentation and tried few sample generation of .chm files.

I've a question? I'm working on a requirement wherein we have a number of developers with each one of us developing multiple DLLs in different projects so how will it be possible to integrate all and produce a single .CHM file using DocProject.

We're working on .NET 3.5 in VS 2008.

A quick reply will be greatly appreciated. Do let me know if i need to provide any more details.

我在一个textbox与一个表的cell见通过bindingsource对象建立了一个数据同步关系，但是当这个textbox第一次获得焦点的时候，输入值“1”，此时在该textbox的textchanged事件中调用form的validatechildren方法，发现textbox的text是“1”，但是table里的数据没有变化，还是空。如果此时继续输入“2”，通过跟踪程序可以看到，textbox的text以及table中的数据在调用form的validatechildren方法后，两者都变成“12”，数据可以同步。如果此时焦点离开textbox，然后焦点再回去，同样的问题就又发生了，即第一次输入的值，无法同步到数据源中。
哪位遇见过这样的问题，不胜感激，用英文发了一次，再用中文发一次，期望能有所收获...

hi,my friends
I made a BindingSource object between a textbox and a table's cell(one row in the table),when the textbox get focus,I change the textbox's text,for a example, the orignal text is noting,then I input a value "1",in the textChanged event's method code,call the form's validateChildren method,but the table's cell value is not "1",is nothing. then,input "2" continue,the situation is changed,the table's cell value will be "12",the data between the textbox and the table's cell will be the same. At this time,the focus leave the textbox,then back to the textbox again,the problem will recur.

I use Frontpage 2003 and have about 10 websites I take care of. Is the Microsoft Expressions easy

XBAP - Full trust Issue

Hi,

I have a simple XBAP and trying to get data from webservie to bind to a combo box, this works fine on my machine but does not work on the client machine, but gives the Full trust not granted exception, I came to know this can be solved by using caspol command, but I want to know is there any other way to avoid this exception or can the caspol command be automated and it is run automatically when the user tries to view mypage?

How can I get Remote NDIS USB Driver Kit

I have an USB RNDIS product that has to be supported on Windows 2000 much to my chagrin. I need the usb8023y.sys among other .sys files that in the day were redistributable and did not come with 2000. My problem is I can not find any download link to get these redistributable RNDIS sys files. I have seen something that says the kit is obsolete. I don't believe I can not get these drivers for our USB product so I have to assume I am just inept in finding this stuff.

From FrontPage 03 to EW

I'm a point and click kind of gal - NOT a code writer. I have two sites on FP03. My web hoster still supports FP Extensions, but not for long. I've tried to download my FP site a number of different ways and continue to run into various problems (stuff missing, stuff not working, etc).

One of the things I am running into is that when I try to import, EW asks me to define remote properties, and I can choose FP Server Extensions, WEB DAV, FTP, or File System. If I use FP Server Extensions I'm afraid they'll still be there which doesn't solve the initial problem. I've tried loading it from my Flash and I'm missing stuff (link bars specifically - and when I try to add them it tells me "file not found").

so wondering ... would I be better of writing from scratch?

Expression Web 2/Server resident Access database run time error

Although I have 4 years of website development experience using FrontPage/Access DB, I have only been using Expression Web 2 for about a week. I have been successful using Expression Web 2/Access, both when the .mbd database resides on my local machine, and when it resides on the server, as long as the .aspx file resides on my local machine. However, when I FTP the .aspx file to the server, and point my browser at that file, I get the following error message:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

As suggested, I have included a <customErrors> tag within the web.config file located in the root directory of my website, but this seems to have no effect. And of course, the code runs perfectly fine on my local machine.

I'm probably just making some rookie mistake, but I've run out of things to try, and would sure appreciate some help.
