I am unable to import Live Meeting Screen Grabs, I am getting :

"Error    Import failed on C:\....\3.wmv: An unknown error has occurred    0x80040154 "

I Searched and found This Thread but it seems unresolved in the forum.

I've worked with previous screen grab files before but this batch is having problems.

On my 64-bit machine the Live meeting code (scdec.dll) is in the following location.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Live Meeting 8\Console

You could verify that you have the scdec.dll in that location and if so you can also try manually registering it by doing the following from an elevated command prompt (change the C: if you have Windows installed on a different drive).

    C:\windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe scdec.dll

    Hope that helps
    Cheers

Would it be possible for you to send us a link to one of the files? Then we could have a look at it at this end to see if we can see what's going on.
    Regards
    Dean.

    Thanks Dean,

I put one in my drop box.

They play just fine in WMP. I tried reinstalling codec packs about 50x. Still no luck.

Thanks for the file. I tried it out on my machine here and it imported and encoded fine using Expression Encoder 2. Do you have the Expression Encoder 2 Service pack 1 installed?

Yeah I have SP1. I think the problem is related to the Microsoft Screen Codec. I tried importing on a different machine and it was smooth sailing.

I checked the Codec List under 'compatibility' and found that the working machine had "MS ATC SCREEN DECODER 1 SCDEC.DLL " on the list.

My machine only has "WMV Screen decoder DMO - wmvsdecd.dll ".

I tried to search to find a way to install it but no luck.

Does the file play back fine on that machine if you use Windows Media Player? If not I suspect you probably need to install the Windows Live Meeting Client, which you can get from the following page.

Yeah it plays fine on all machines, I tried reinstalling that client as well, is there a way to add a codec to the list?
