    Ah ha! I just read the discussions in the Twirling Sprial thread so now I know how you created the shape. But what effect did you use? That is so awesome!

    I posted the design file here
    I recommend scan after downloading

    it takes some time to open the file with all the blending paths with bevel (at least on my computer some years old I see the effect going on )

    the outcome depends on what first line you draw stroke width color  and the transparancy you give your strokes
    I use a different transparancy for the first blending path I make  

    it has a lot of possibilities starting with one simple line
    after finishing the blending paths I selected all the lines and used a bevel effect
    if I am correct
    width 2
    contrast 0,3
    softness 0,2
    profile linear
    light angle 135 
    you can see in the design file
