I have spent two days trying to get Design 2.0 to work and I am at the end of my line.  I have tried every solution suggested in the forum to no avail.  I have installed it on two different systems and always get the same problem.  Been through the update of video drivers, .net framework, changing Hardware acceleration, and removing color profiles.  Nothing works.  I have reinstalled Design 2.0 more times than I care to count.

I am using Windows XP SP 3, with the current DirectX software and video drivers.  It should not be this difficult to get software working, esepcailly these days, am I asking for too much.

Is there anything interesting in the Application event log? (Run eventvwr from Start...Run)

Todd, I'm sorry for the late reply to this. The Application Event log is a great place to start.

I would also like to ask the following: does Expression Design 2 launch in Safe Mode?

Here are the steps to boot to Safe Mode just in case you don't have them:

1.Click the START button, and in the run line type MSCONFIG and hit ENTER.
2.The System Configuration utility should launch. Click the Boot tab. Under ‘Boot Options’ click to check the box for ‘Safe boot’, then click Apply and OK.
    3.Restart the machine.
4.In safe mode, launch Expression Design 2. Does it launch or does it also crash (or just quit)?

5.Then Click START, RUN type MSCONFIG and click on the Boot tab again. Under ‘Boot options’, uncheck the box for ‘Safe Boot’ and click Apply, OK and restart the machine.

No, the app will not start in safe mode.  I have the same issue on Vista sp 2.

Okay Ryan, let's see what we can do. When it fails to start, does it give an error message? If so, what is the exact text of the error?

If this issue has been resolved, can someone post the solution please otherwise is someone working on this?  There is nothing in the eventlog under the application node and the system only logs the pop up.

There never was a resolution to this because no one ever replied to either of my posts.
