DeepZoom will only works on my site when using singleimage composition

I can create and use in my localhost both composition and collection using deepzoom composer. However, once I upload it to the site only the composition (single image) is sharpening when I zoom in, the collection (multipile images) becomes and stays blured when zooming in.

Does any one knows what to do?

I have implemented Deepzoom using Seadragon ajax as opposed to Silverlight in my page. It is working fine except when I click on the icon to make it full screen in IE6. I have a couple of dropdown lists at the top of a master page. The deepzoom image/viewer is on a contentplaceholder page. When I click the icon to make it full screen, the dropdowns on my master page are bleeding through the full screen overlay at the top of the image. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening or what I can do to resolve it? I do not have the same issue in Firefox or IE8. I haven't tried on IE7 because I don't have a box that has that installed right now.

Please let me know if you need further information that would be helpful.

When I "Preview in Browser" directly from the DeepZoom Composer, I can zoom in to see details, textures, etc. in the compososition. Details are clear, as expected. When I place the same composition (using Import > Media > DeepZoom) in Expression Web 3, the image becomes pixelized when zoomed into. Am I missing a step? I have screenshots if it helps.

I only started playing with Deep Zoom a couple of days ago and everything had been going great.

2 DAYS LATER: Everytime I try to "add image" (any image) i get the error message "The file________ is not a valid image file" , regardless of file size or whether its a .jpg .tiff .png etc.... I tried uninstalling and re-installing, rebooting etc.... nothing seems to stop the problem.

Any ideas?

I created a composition of about 50 pictures in Deep Zoom Composer. I have published it in the custon tab so the program has now created a series of folders. I cannot find a file to link to that will open the composition. Can someone please tell me how to integrate this composition into a website page?

Hi All,

I am using Deep Zoom Composer and wanted to create an image pyramid from an image of size 23 MB which is an PNG image. The problem is that Deep Zoom Composer is taking too much time to load an image i.e it took 90 min to load and near about 2 hr to convert it into an Image Pyramid.The image which i am using has 600 DPI.

Is there anyway to make these process faster ?So that i can have image pyramid within minute for image ranging from 30-50 MB.

Any help in this regards would be helpful.

Default.xap can't find GeneratedImages in Silverlight Live

Context

The default player Exported Data\preview\Default.xap works fine in a Web server (ASP.Net Development Server in Visual Web Dev. 2008 Express or via http://localhost/test.html after duplication in my local Xampp Apache htdocs folder).

Issue

If I zip together GeneratedImages and Default.xap then I upload the zipped package in Silverlight Live Streaming (SLS), the Deep Zoom composition does not seem to be found by the default player.

Symptom

In IE8 I only got the endless animation "100%" with the blue circles exactly like if I double click to Exported Data\preview\Test.html from the Windows File Explorer instead of browsing in IE8 http://localhost/test.html

Question

Did you successfully use Preview\Default.xap and your GeneratedImages uploaded in Silverlight Live Streaming? How?

Hi to all,

A total newbie, I've been trying to export a composition in deep zoom composer, but somehow it stops inbetween. I mean, the expressions developement server pops up fine (it runs smoothly), but when it opens up a browser window, the window shows:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I use custom export, output type silverlight deepzoom, and export as single image(composition).

I've tried exporting it in almost every other possible way too, but the problem persists.

I'm using Windows 7 Pro and IE8 and have already tried switching off Inbuilt firewall of windows or some phishing/ pop up blocker of EI to check if ny of them is blocking the server from showing the contents.. just in case if some1 thinks in that direction. So thats not the prob.

Do i need to install anything extra apart from silverlight and .NET 3.5 for DeepZoom composer to make it work??

My silverlight is 3.0.40818.0 and about the expressions server, I dont know the version. Doesent it come inbuilt with deep zoom composer? because I didnt install it separately. and because it does start up, So it's there in the system for sure.

Can it be possible to just give a jist of a step by step to how to export, from wat output types to use and what all settings to keep? It'll be a great help. I wish to use it offline in a browser, and thats why opted for custom export. (It can be done rite?)

Hi everyone,
To help us out with prioritizing bug fixes for future Deep Zoom Composer releases, let's use this thread to centralize all of that feedback. Please respond with any issues you find, and I'll try to keep this list updated with our progress in addressing them as well.

Open Issues

Transparent PNG support does not work when exporting as Composition.
Highest levels of details in Compositions are sometimes not composited.
Poorly worded/designed error dialog when stitching fails.
Occasionally, the design surface fails to display all of the images even though internally they are there (export works, ie). (link)
Aspect ratio in SparseImageSceneGraph is occassionally inaccurate.
XML output for SparseImageSceneGraph needs to be locale invariant.
Project files occassionally do not open - even if created in the same version of DZC.
Making the paths in DZPROJ relative instead of absolute.
Importing images whose names are the same but come from different folders leads to the wrong images being displayed on the artboard. This also leads to the wrong images getting exported as well.
Giving the user more control over where temporary images are generated, and having SparseImageTool provide useful error messages when disk space has been exhausted.

Export step in DeepZoom Composer distorts my preview

Hiya all, haven't been here a while.
Few days ago, for some simple demo i decided to use DeepZoom Composer, and it worked great.
I managed to import and compose my DZ application. But, when it came to export it, the preview windows
started to distort images in weird kind of manners.
To better illustrate my issue i added an image of the preview screen.

I don't know, maybe it's my graphic card.

These are my pc specs:

Intel Core2Duo T5750 @ 2.0GHz
4 GB Ram
Sis Mirage 3 Graphic card.

Blurry Images

Hi,
I have been facing an issue with the latest composer. The exported images do not always convert from blurry-to-crisp on zoom.
The blurred image gets more blurred as i zoom in.
This occurs most of the time, i have to export the images again to resolve it.
Can anyone explain why/when this happens?

I have a set of about 1000 photos which i have to arrange into Deep Zoom. They are of various sizes.
In the deep zoom composer i can arrange them in a proper order.
But when i want to shuffle the images or to sort by tag, the images not being of the same size, are not aligned properly.
I had earlier tried for images of same sizes and arranged them into a grid format using the following code

I'm trying to add a TIFF image to a new DZC project.

DZC version is 1.0.1927.1.

TIFF information: 10973x12778 pixels, 34.3 MB.

I was able to correctly load exactly same file using July Preview (RC) of DZC. Is there any way to download that version?

Also tried to export TIFF to PNG, with no success.

Am using Image creator and collection creator class to create my image tiles. How will i add the tag information to the images which i generate programatically, so that i can use the tags to sort them progamatically. How will i genearte the metadata.xml for all my images.i have seen lto of tutorial performing using the expression blend tool, but i want to achieve in code.

Anyhelp will be higly appreaciated.

I'm working with DeepZoom for a few days now - it was very hard to find documentation about dynamically creation of DeepZoom. When I'm done, I want to have a solution like Hard Rock Memorabilia (like nearly everyone...) or for now a functionality like it is shown here:

At the moment I have a problem with the following issue:
I give Tags for every SubImage in a XML file which i create dynamically myself with data from a DB. With the Tags I can filter the view of the subimages, that works fine so far. I also can identify each SubImage when the view is not filtered by the SubImage-Index.

But when I filter the view I run into the problem to identify the image. I filter the view with this code:

As you can see, I simply set the Opacity of the images that do not match the given filter to zero. For the view that works really fine but it seems like the untagged Images with the Opacity of zero lie over the Tagged One the user can see. So when the user clicks one of the images he doesn't get the appreciated information, but the information from an image he is not seeing at all.

I tried to set the ZOrder of the untagged Images to zero, but that didn't work.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? Thanks for any help!

DeepZoomTools ImageCreator Quality Issue

Hi everyone,

I'm generating DeepZoom with the dll provided by the Expression Team. Therefore I call ImageCreator and CollectionCreator
and that worked fine so far, but I just recognized that the image quality in Browser is not that good as I expected. For testing,
I used the Windows Vista Example Pictures stored in the user's folder... they have a resolution of1024x768.

Well then I used the same pictures and generated DeepZoom with the composer and the quality is quite better than mine. I
figured out that it is a problem of the ViewportWidth set to each image. At first I didn't set the ViewportWidth myself because
I generated DZ with List<String> - Images, there DZTools sets default ViewportWidth to "1". When I use the DZTools.Image
I can set it manually.

DeepZoom Composer seems to calculate the ViewportWidth depending of the number of images and their resolution. My question
is, how can I calcualte the ViewportWidth myself dynamically? Or can I just say the ViewportWidth of each image should be 5 or
even higher?

Any help would be appreciated

deep zoom - locking of resources

i am using deepzoom tools to generate the images and view them in the browser.
But the deepzoom tools some how locks the resources, that is the generated images and i am not able to delete the image resources.

if i start a new set of image genration, then the old resources can be deleted.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

How do you fix item with same key has already been added in Deep Zoom Composer. I tried to save the project and got this error.

I have about 30 images in the project. I was not importing any thing I just moved and image and hit save.

Howdy,

Call me crazy, but Layout in the MSI just doesnt appear to work as the many posts claiming to know.. show.

Here is my method that I can call providing a simple X,Y coord with other variables and what I get back is pretty much my interpretation of a Viewport Layout system. (I checked this on grid paper to understand it and it works)

Now this works fine, if the following two assumptions are correct:

1) all your images are the same width and height
2) you are aligning your images in a perfect grid

It never works any other time.

Images of varying sizes being laid out in a pattern not in perfect grid are not laid out correctly.

I have written so much code to check everything and then resorted to writing it all down - widths, heights, filenames, load orders etc... I am now at a complete loss how to make this work correctly.

Any help would be as you know, very much appreciated.

Export as Composition vs. Collection

I just completed a Deep Zoom project that I exported as Silverlight Deep Zoom. The project has one base image that is quite large and 138 other smaller images that are basically 800 x 535 that are placed on this large image at varying sizes with some of the images on top of each other.

I first exported the project as a collection which resulted in a project of 72 MB, 4,370 files and 1,660 folders. As an experiment, I next exported it as a composition with the resulting project being a much larger 151 MB with 6,620 files and 26 folders.

I have usually exported projects that contain one large file, e.g., a map, as a composition and exported projects with many files as a collection. And it seemed intuitive that a collection would always take up more hard drive space than a composition. Apparently I was wrong, as demonstrated by the above.

Can anyone explain why a composition takes up more hard drive space than does a collection?

right from the start I'm getting an issue trying to import a jpeg file. I've tried a few different ones, and each time I get the "deep zoom composer has stopped working" and the program restarts. Anyone seen this before? any ideas? Just installed the composer.

Stuck on 100% loading screen after successful export

Running the latest version of DZC (July 30 09 "Path export fix") and Silverlight 3, this problem started after installing the July 09 version of the software.

After successful export, the composition can be previewed and run correctly, but later when the export folder is opened and test.html is opened, the loading screen with the blue dots stays stuck at 100%.

Rebuilt the composition, and also tested with a simple two image one. Same results. Only able to load the composition successfully hitting the preview button. Stuck on loading screen in IE8, FireFox and Safari (Mac version). Using default Deep Zoom Navigation template.

In Deep Zoom Composer I have created a project with External Links. When I view the web page using the Default.xap file the external links work. When I change the web page to use my own .xap file (which is a fairly simple deep zoom project) then the pictures show up but the links don't work. What can I be doing in my own project to cause this problem?

Also, is it possible to have the External Link not open up a new window? I just want to navigate to a new page but in the same browser.

multiple DeepZooms in a website

I have one successful deepzoom xap on my website in \Clientbin and the dll somehow automatically knows to get its images from \GeneratedImages. When I try to add another deepzoom xap I tried to put it into \Clientbin2 where I also put another \GeneratedImages directory with all the images. But it didn't work - it just displayed a black screen. I don't know how to complile a dll that looks somewhere other than \GeneratedImages.

So, how can I have multiple deepzoom .xaps in my website using different images?

I am currently using a freeware package called AndreaMosaic to create mosaic files which I then import into Deep Zoom Composer.
However I am experiencing poor quality output and cannot zoom in far as a result.

Does anyone know of a good quality Mozaic compiler?
