One image out of 84 in grid does not stay sharp when zoomedI have created a Deep Zoom project with 84 images in a grid. Everything works as expected on my development computer. However, when uploaded to the Internet there is one of the 84 images that does not stay sharp as it is zoomed. I have checked, and as far as I can tell all the image files associated with this image are the same on my computer as on the web. I even reuploaded the files again.

What sort of things would cause the image to stay sharp when zoomed to fill the screen on my computer but not when it is served from a web site?© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. So far I find no discrepancies. I wonder if it could have something to do with the name of the files associated with that particular button. They all have C++ in them. Possibly the ++ in the name is a problem on the server but not my computer? The server is a Win 2007 server.

I have compared the dzc_output.xml, Metadata.xml, scene.xml, and SparseImageSceneGraph.xml files on my computer and the server and the parts dealing with this image are exactly the same. I have also re-uploaded all the images associated with the C++ button.

Furthermore, I then downloaded the folder 10 that contains the pieces of the large version of this image and assembled them in Photoshop. Everything is there and looks beautiful. I will send you that image via email.

Tue, 30 Jun 2009 16:49:30 Z2009-06-30T16:49:30Zhttp://social.expression.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/deepzoomcomposer/thread/a1cbe4c1-b314-4a23-9336-e744e50e66f6#ffbd77a8-2566-4d39-98f1-0750f208f399http://social.expression.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/deepzoomcomposer/thread/a1cbe4c1-b314-4a23-9336-e744e50e66f6#ffbd77a8-2566-4d39-98f1-0750f208f399William LaMartinhttp://social.expression.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=William%20LaMartinOne image out of 84 in grid does not stay sharp when zoomedThe problem is solved. It was caused by having + signs in the name of the image that exhibited the problem. The file was named microsoft-visual-c++.png

Changing microsoft-visual-c++ to micorosoft-visual-c everywhere it occurred in both the folder and file names and in the text in the xml files at the web site corrected the problem. Apparently the server on my computer does not mind such file names, but the one on the web did.

The solution could also have been accomplished in the Deep Zoom program by removing the image from the project and then re-importing it under a better name and then re-exporting the project and then uploading that to the web.Thu, 02 Jul 2009 01:54:09 Z2009-07-02T01:54:09Z
